What is FUPR?

FUPR stands for Friends' Unofficial Pickleball Rating. It's a simple number that shows how your game is trending with the people you actually play with — no tournament scorecard, no pressure, and gentle on off days.

Here's what moves it:

  • Beat a stronger player → bigger boost

  • Beat a developing player → small boost

  • Lose to a stronger player → barely a dip

  • Close game → small change either way

Bigger wins and losses shift things a little more — but always softer than a serious competitive system.

The Simple, Player-Friendly Formula (For the geeky types)

This is the “explanation level” formula (not the full math)!

New FUPR = Old FUPR
+ Match Weight × (Actual Performance – Expected Performance)

Where:

  • Expected Performance = based on the rating difference

  • Actual Performance = based on whether you won and by how much

  • Match Weight = small early on, smaller later

In plain language:

“Your FUPR changes based on how well you played compared to how well you were expected to play.”

RallyRank FAQs (For Players)

  • Yes. Match logging, FUPR, history, leaderboards, communities, achievements — all free, always. The only paid part is Club Mode, and only organizers pay for that.

  • Nope. You're not filing taxes. Enter the final score and RallyRank does the math.

  • Totally. RallyRank averages team strength so the math stays fair. Your partner doesn't get all the credit.

  • Not even a little. FUPR is gentle with beginners — a rating system wrapped in a warm hug.

  • Only if you choose to share it. Your stats, your call.
