What is FUPR?
FUPR stands for Friends’ Unofficial Pickleball Rating. It shows how your game is trending with the people you actually play with, without feeling like a tournament scorecard. Think of it as DUPR’s friendly cousin—easy to use, fun to check, and gentle on off days.
FUPR looks at who you played, how strong they are, and how close the score was. Beating stronger players boosts your rating more, beating lower players moves it a little, and losing to stronger players barely affects you. Close games cause small changes, while bigger wins or losses shift things a bit more—but always softer than a serious competitive system.

The Simple, Player-Friendly Formula (For the geeky types)
This is the “explanation level” formula (not the full math)!
New FUPR = Old FUPR
+ Match Weight × (Actual Performance – Expected Performance)
Where:
Expected Performance = based on the rating difference
Actual Performance = based on whether you won and by how much
Match Weight = small early on, smaller later
In plain language:
“Your FUPR changes based on how well you played compared to how well you were expected to play.”
